I think its a good idea. Sometimes I can exprees much better in English than in Spanish. Maybe because stuttering can mean one is a rookie better than one is socially akward when talking to another person that is also learning English.
I recomend you to read books, to listen to music and to watch movies or series in English. I think it's a good idea to keep contact with the language, but you must choose those that fit with your level (there are magazines for each English levels and for movies you can use subtitles and disable them when you feel you are ready to do it without them)
Also you can participate in English Webs or join to a conversation club; doing that not only will you help you to improve your English but also will help you to improve your sociall skills, because, as I said before, most of the people trying to learn the language, can think you are a rookie better than you have problems socializing; plus, must of them are more focused on trying to speak correctly than in the body language.
Well, at least it happened to me when I was taking English lessons. Maybe I couldn't become a friend of all of them but I could express myself better and get some friends with not much dificulty.
I think I wrote more than I should have written
Good luck with your exam.
